Famous open-source Ethereum-based wallet named MyEtherWallet was excited to announce that its iOS version dubbed MEWconnect (dedicated to ETH and ERC-20 tokens) went live.
MyEtherWallet Inc. has now a new crypto project under surveillance known as MEWconnect. You can search for as well as download the product on Apple store. It can be installed on every iOS-based device such as iPhone 5, iPhone 6 or iPhone 7.
Besides this announcement, MyEtherWallet Inc. shared with users about its intention regarding the launch of the Android version of the same product later in September 2018.
MyEtherWallet founder and CEO Kosala Hemachandra commented about the impact the app is making on the team’s opportunities to be part of the massive adoption of cryptos:
“We have been working hard to perfect MEWconnect over the past few months, and are excited to finally provide our global users with this free and easy to use app that has the functionality of a hardware wallet. we believe this app will play a key role in wider cryptocurrency adoption, and we look forward to being a part of this transition. With this application, users can now easily interact directly with MEW via their mobile phone, while still remaining in full control of their private keys and funds”
Back in July, MEW was pretty active on social media because of threats coming from a possible cyber attack. As mentioned in the official Tweet, the Hola VPN extension was in ‘hacked state’ for roughly 5 hours, during which hackers managed to control some of the users’ activity via the extension.
Urgent! If you have Hola chrome extension installed and used MEW within the last 24 hrs, please transfer your funds immediately to a brand new account!

MyEtherWallet’s principle is “you are your own bank”, meaning that users must follow strict monitoring over their private keys and funds.
The platform and, in general, the MEW project, boasts a positive notoriety on the basis of its advanced system mainly due to decentralized and security features.
