Trading Results Overview September 22

Dear Traders,

This month we have also added our two newest brokers to this performance overview: YaMarkets and RannForex. 

This article will provide an overview of the performance with multiple systems, including Athena EA, Chris Mix, Zeus NEW, Portfolio, SWAT and Options trading.

Summary September 2022

Here is a summary of all our main systems and methods:

Athena EA

Athena EA had again an excellent month. The trading system managed to close in profitable territory with all three brokers. You can click on the broker name to see the Mfxbook stats of each broker, as well on our personal account (where we run it with more risky settings due to already having collected enough profit to make up for the possible drawdowns). 

The best performance is on RannForex with a total profit of more than +50%. The other two brokers follow at +20% and +15%. 

Zeus EA

The Zeus New EA is showing strong performance across the board. All three brokers has impressive gains, ranging anywhere from +7.3% to +14.5%. The total performance shows 28% as the lowest figure and 35% as the highest.

Chris’ Mix

Chris’ Mix of best trading systems is still showing “mixed” results, unfortunately. Despite the slow start, the trading team is working hard to find the best winning combination. One that offers robust growth in combination with low draw-down. We will also keep trading the system on different brokers to see which one offers the best performance.

Portfolio Method

ECS Portfolio is making a fresh start with a new broker RannForex. The first month had an impressive result with a gain of +7.6%. We’re going to need more months of data of course before we can make any first conclusions.

Options Trading 

New annual lows. September closed with a new annual low, giving a negative signal for the rest of the year. 

The end of September also closes the quarter and the possible break of this minimum. In any case a break of the support zone around 3500-3600 would suggest new lows in October. Price could push down even a further 10-15% from current levels up to a strong supportive area at about 3150-3200 index. The  important support level around 3300 could slow its descent.

Before this movement, we could witness a (potentially strong) bullish pullback with the aim of unloading the excesses of oversold and activating the covers that would amplify the movement itself.

As always, the market will have the last word and we will see how the situation will evolve also in connection with the geo-political situation. International tensions remain, in fact, very high as well as the well-known economic problems. In this situation, news could impact substantially pushing the market in one of two directions.

As for our teaching service, the unusual trend of the market has created few opportunities for entry, none in the short direction. Although the selection of long inputs was very strict, the three operations reported did not go to target.

SWAT EA 

The SWAT EA lost almost 10% in the month of September, which was the worst loss this year. Ultimately, we decided that the overall performance was not good enough. After trading the EA for more than 1.5 years, we have decided to stop this EA effective immediately. 

The performance was not bad. The EA still managed to generate +70% of profits in those 20 months of trading. But the average gain was only +2.75% per month and we never felt confident enough to trade it on a real account. We therefore have decided to focus our attention on current EAs that we are trading and new EAs that we are creating.
