Cryptos Issues Were Discussed by Czech Politicians, It Was ‘Brainwashing’

3 min read

Cryptocurrencies have caught the attention of politicians in the Czech Republic. They blamed the crypto mining for political attack intended to put the ones criticizing the system of Czech administration into trouble.

“You are still criticizing something, and when you get involved, you do not even have people to back you up… You talk so much about IT, but you don’t do anything about it other than mining Bitcoin. We expect you to get involved.”

The attacker was Andrej Babiš (ANO), Czech Republic’s Prime Minister, who responded to a politician’s curiosity Jakub Michalek about the actions needed to support the adoption of digital documents.

Besides the fact that the political attack put in a bad position the opposition party, it described the real economic environment in the Czech Republic. The increasing rate of crypto adoption has reached higher points in political space becoming thus an important issue in the country.

Babiš’s accusations were “brainwashing”

Michalek considered Babiš’s accusations as “brainwashing” bearing in mind that he didn’t answer directly to the question instead of accusing the opposite political party in order to avoid the public’s attention:

“(This is) Really brainwashing … You have speech and demagogy,”

Recently, the local news operator Hospodářské Noviny reported that the number of companies supporting digital assets was surprisingly increasing. Furthermore, it seems that the entire digital and tech sphere, including blockchain, is a widely discussed topic in the Czech Republic:

“Blockchain technology has gained its reputation in the shadow of bitcoin digital currencies. Soon its potential was discovered by many technology companies that apply it or develop it for diverse areas of deployment. He manages to implement and manage in essence any type of transaction, he also does so virtually and without any intermediary. Besides low costs, it also offers a higher level of security. Not all reactions to the blockchain must be clearly positive or uncritical.”
