Opera Browser Releases a Cryptocurrency Wallet for Desktop

A famous Norwegian browser with 322 million users is excited to announce it will create a desktop version of its newly released mobile cryptocurrency wallet. The move was influenced by the “overwhelmingly positive response of the crypto-community and users to the crypto wallet in Opera for Android.”
Norway-based browser Opera kicked again with great news. After launching its own crypto wallet for mobile devices, the company is ready to create a desktop version of it. The move aims to solve two problems.
This will eliminate the need to install an extension on user’s PC that links the browser to the wallet active on the mobile. Furthermore, all data regarding user’s authentication, counting private key and passwords will remain stored on the phone, just to provide superior security. The new service will no longer need long passphrases to sign transactions, just a fingerprint and you’re done.
“By adding a crypto wallet directly into the browser, we removed the need for complex extensions or separate apps. Opening up the PC browser to crypto marks Opera’s second step towards making cryptocurrencies and Web 3.0 mainstream,” claimed Charles Hamel, Product Lead of Opera Crypto.
Mobile wallet supports ETH, ERC-20 tokens and ERC-721 collectibles
The mobile crypto wallet was released back in July and it supports ETH, ERC-20 tokens and ERC-721 collectibles, with more digital currencies to be added soon.
The move to launch a desktop version of the company’s mobile cryptocurrency wallet represents a measure embedded in the company’s development strategy by which it plans to take into consideration the users’ demands.
